Yard waste is collected on a weekly basis between April 1 and December 15 on the same day as refuse collection. Yard waste generally consists of grass clippings, twigs, leaves, and plant material such as weeds, unwanted plants, and roots. Plants and roots should be free of dirt to the furthest extent possible. Yard waste may be disposed of in two-ply kraft paper yard bags or 35-gallon cans. A yard waste sticker must be affixed to each bag or can.
Effective May 1, 2017, the cost of each yard waste sticker is $5.00.
Brush and shrubbery limbs are also collected as yard waste. Brush picked up by Republic Services must be bundled (natural twine), may not exceed four feet in length, and must weigh no more than 50 pounds per bundle. Individual branches cannot exceed four inches in diameter. Each bundle must also have a yard waste sticker attached.
Refuse and yard waste cannot be co-mingled. Also, yard waste cannot be collected in plastic bags.
