Solicitations and Opt-Outs
Solicitation Licenses
Anyone who wishes to solicit within the corporate limits of La Grange must obtain a solicitor's license. Solicitation applications can be obtained by visiting or contacting the Administration Department at 708-579-2313. The issued license is required to have a photo of the solicitor, and they must have it in their possession and provide it by request at all times. Those licensed for door-to-door or on-street solicitation may generally solicit between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday unless otherwise permitted.
Residents and businesses may post a "No Solicitors Allowed" sign near main entrances (stickers available upon request at Village Hall). If a sign is displayed, the solicitor may not knock on the door, ring the doorbell, leave marketing material or otherwise attempt to engage with building occupants. Anyone encountering a solicitor that has not observed these regulations, or observes someone acting suspiciously, is encouraged to call 9-1-1. Calls will be responded to accordingly and records will be kept on file to be referenced in considering future applications.
Village approval is contingent on the organization agreeing to comply with local ordinances. Approval does not mean that the Village endorses the solicitation.
Solicitation Opt-Outs
Residents can reach out to the Administration Department at 708-579-2313 to receive a current list of approved solicitors. Residents may also sign up to have their name and address added to a no solicitation list that will be provided to licensed solicitors prior to their solicitation efforts.
Register for inclusion on the "No Solicitor" list.
