[ARCHIVED] Severe Weather Power Restoration and Clean-up Efforts

In response to the severe weather last night, Commonwealth Edison advises that crews will be working through the weekend to restore power. Com Ed is focusing its efforts first on restoring power to life safety facilities (such as hospitals, nursing homes, etc) and its feeder systems. Once the larger grid elements are repaired, Com Ed will be moving restoration crews into residential areas.

Residents should be prepared to be without power for up to several days and should plan accordingly. Persons with special needs might have to relocate to another location such as a family member's home or medical facility. Please check in with neighbors and elderly who may need assistance. To report a power outage, please call Com Ed at 1-800-334-7661.

Additional information regarding the status of the power outages will be provided as it becomes available.

The Village's Public Works Department will be picking up tree branches damaged from the storm starting today. Please place fallen branches at the curb to be picked up or chipped. Public Works will also prune broken branches. If you notice any parkway trees with hanging branches or split limbs that are a safety concern, please contact the Department of Public Works at (708) 579-2328.
