[ARCHIVED] Crime Prevention Advisory - Storm Damage Confidence Crimes

The Village of La Grange would like to advise residents to be watchful of confidence crimes in follow-up to the storm event from Tuesday, June 21.

Offenders may pose as workers for a utility company and indicate a need to enter your home to check electric, gas, cable and so on. The Village advises residents not to let anyone into your home unless their identity can be confirmed and you have placed a trouble call/repair service order into the utility.

Similarly, do not let anyone into your home who may be soliciting for tree trimming or tree removal services, or home repairs due to storm damage. Business solicitation requires a permit from the Village before residents can be contacted.

Please do not hesitate to report any suspicious activity by calling the La Grange Police Department at 9-1-1.

If you have any questions concerning the business solicitation, please call the Village Manager’s office at 708-579-2316.
