Com Ed reports damage to individual service lines and the electrical system as a result of the severe storm this morning. Approximately 150 customers are without power in La Grange at this time. Com Ed crews are working to restore power. Please report any power outages or downed power lines to Com Ed at 1-800-334-7661.
Please be aware that if the riser for your electrical service (the point at which the electrical service reaches your home) is damaged, you may need to have a licensed electrician examine this prior to power being restored to the home. Extensive repair of a service riser should be done under a permit by a licensed electrician. Com Ed will not connect an electric service without receiving approval from the Village. The Village can expedite permits and inspections for convenience. If you should have any questions or concerns feel free to contact the Community Development Department at (708) 579-2320 and ask for a building inspector.
Residents are encouraged to report hanging branches and split limbs that are a safety concern by calling 9-1-1. This information will be forwarded to crews in the field. Please place downed limbs and branches at the curb for collection. Public Works will be picking up storm debris starting Monday, August 1.
For residents in need, a cooling center is available at the La Grange Memorial Hospital. Please check on neighbors and those residents who may have special needs.
