[ARCHIVED] Commencement of Lot 2 Resurfacing Project

The Village would like to advise residents that Chicagoland Paving Contractors, Inc. intends to begin the resurfacing of Lot 2 located at the northeast corner of Harris and 6th Avenues on Monday, September 19, 2011. The project consists of resurfacing the existing parking lot by grinding the existing asphalt layer and replacing it with a new surface. Additionally, improvements will be made to the drainage structures and lighting within the lot. The work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, October 21, 2011.

Parking in Lot 2 will not be available during construction. The Village requests that residents with day and/or night residential decals park on the top deck of the adjacent parking structure located at the southwest corner of 6th and Harris Avenues. Residents with valid decals will not be ticketed for parking in the structure while Lot 2 is resurfaced. In the event that the parking garage is full, residents with valid day and/or night residential decals may park on adjacent side streets overnight.

On weekends when parking demand is high within the Central Business District, the Cossitt Avenue School parking lot located at Harris and Madison Avenues will be available for overflow parking should the parking garage be full. This overflow parking area is intended for patrons of businesses within Central Business District on weekends only. Vehicles left in this lot overnight will be towed.

If you have any questions regarding the project activities, or have special needs that are of concern, please feel free to contact the Department of Public Works at 708-579-2328.
