In September 2009, Illinois became the 16th State to adopt an electronics recycling law known as the Electronics Products Recycling and Reuse Act (SB2313). Initially, this legislation banned televisions and monitors from entering Illinois landfills. Effective January 1, 2012, the electronics products noted below are prohibited from being disposed of with your garbage by state law.
