[ARCHIVED] ComEd Line Clearance

The Village would like to advise residents that ComEd will be conducting overhead utility line clearance in the La Grange area over the next month. Utility line clearance involves trimming of trees and pruning shrubs and other vegetation on both public and private properties which may interfere with electrical wires.

This year approximately 40% of La Grange has been identified for this cyclical tree trimming work. Tree trimming may or may not be required on your property depending on the circuits that are part of this year’s program. Impacted addresses will receive a postcard explaining the program in more detail.

Tree trimming work will be performed at no charge to the resident by a company hired by ComEd, using qualified arborists specializing in utility work. Branches and other brush created as a result of the trimming work will be removed by the ComEd contractor.

If you have any questions regarding this maintenance activity, you may call ComEd at 1-800-EDISON-1 (1-800-334-7661) and ask to speak with a vegetation management representative. For more information about ComEd’s cyclical tree trimming program. Click Here to visit their website.

The Village Forester will be monitoring these tree trimming activities and is available by calling 708-579-2328 or by e-mail at Village Forester.
