[ARCHIVED] Earth Hour 2013

Earth Hour aims to encourage an interconnected global community to participate in a conversation regarding the opportunities and challenges of creating a sustainable world. The symbolic and voluntary program encourages individuals and businesses across the globe to showcase the measures that they are taking to reduce their impact on the environment.

On Saturday, March 23, 2013, participants are asked to switch off non-essential lights for one hour (not lights that affect public safety) starting at 8:30 p.m. local time.

In La Grange from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., some local merchants will participate in Earth Hour by offering special promotions. Please visit www.lgba.com for more information.

Earth Hour 2013 will mark the seventh year of the campaign. Last year more than 7000 cities in 152 countries across all seven continents participated in the event.
