The Village would like to advise residents that the Village of La Grange Park plans to start a water main replacement project on the west side of La Grange Road, between Brewster Avenue to the south, and Woodlawn Avenue to the north, beginning Monday, June 17.
This notification is important to La Grange residents and businesses as it will have an impact on local and regional traffic, on a daily basis for approximately the next twelve weeks.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has issued a permit to La Grange Park which allows for single lane closures to occur from 7:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m., Monday — Friday.
This will largely affect southbound traffic on La Grange Road.
However, there will be a period of three days during which a single lane closure will occur on northbound La Grange Road, as cross-connections are made to a water main on the east side of La Grange Road.
The single lane closure will only occur during the day. La Grange Road will be temporarily restored and re-opened back to a four lane road each afternoon for the evening rush hour and weekends.
Traffic delays and back-ups are likely to occur. We advise regional traffic to use alternative routes, and for local traffic to avoid the project corridor if possible.
This project will not affect La Grange’s water system.
If you have any questions concerning this project, or have special needs that are of concern, please feel free to contact the La Grange Department of Public Works at 708-579-2328.
