[ARCHIVED] Storm Event Update

This afternoon, the Village met with Com Ed representatives and reviewed all areas that we are aware of without power. The largest area still impacted by outages in the Village is between Kensington and Madison Avenues and Cossitt and 52nd Street.

Com Ed reports that approximately 500 crews are working to restore electrical service throughout the area. Approximately 42,500 customers region-wide remain out of service at this time.

Com Ed has not been able to provide the Village with definitive restoration times, however they have advised us that they expect to restore the majority of remaining customers by Wednesday night.

Downed wires in various areas appear to be the primary reason for the outages. Never approach a downed power line and consider all downed lines energized and dangerous. Anyone who sees a downed power line should immediately call Com Ed at 1-800-Edison1 to report the location.

We will continue to urge Com Ed to allocate all available resources to power restoration in La Grange.

Additional updates will be provided as information becomes available.
