[ARCHIVED] Storm Event Update

The largest area affected by the loss of power (bounded by Cossitt Avenue, La Grange Road, 52nd Street and Kensington Avenue) was restored at approximately 5:30 a.m. today, Wednesday June 26.

Other areas restored during the course of the day today include:

- 300 and 400 blocks of Gilbert and Peck Avenues
- 50 - 54 N. Stone Avenue

Some limited areas still remain without power due to significant tree-related damage (with the majority in the area of 64 N. Peck). A new outage has occurred on the 300-400 blocks of Ashland and Catherine late this afternoon. We believe that it is related to bringing power down for restoration work in progress across La Grange Road to the east on the 200 block of 7th Avenue.

The Fire Department conducted well-being checks today due to the extended period of outages.

Public Works has picked up a significant volume of brush related to parkway trees and from residents. Approximately 70% of the Village has been serviced. Public Works anticipates that storm-related brush pick-up will be completed on Thursday, June 27.

Residents can call the Village Manager's office at (708) 579-2313 if they have any storm event related questions or concerns.
