The Village would like to advise residents and business owners that the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) plans to perform intermittent resurfacing work on La Grange Road from Plainfield Road to Ogden Avenue beginning the week of October 7, 2013. IDOT has indicated that the work will take several weeks to complete. The scope of work includes milling and resurfacing existing pavement in areas that are deteriorated as well as re-striping the existing pavement markings as required. This work will be performed by Central Blacktop of Hodgkins, Illinois.
Localized lane closures will be required to accommodate the work. Since the work only involves spot patching, at least one lane of traffic in both the northbound and southbound directions will remain open at all times. Traffic delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid the work zone. We ask that motorists plan accordingly and exercise care when driving through the construction zone. Please note that all schedules and work progress are weather dependent.
Finally, please note that the State law regulating the use of cell phones will be enforced. When driving through a construction zone, cell phone use is limited to hands-free operation only and texting is strictly prohibited. The La Grange Police Department will be enforcing this law.
Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation. We will work with IDOT as much as possible to minimize the inconveniences associated with this project. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Department of Public Works at (708) 579-2328.
