State Representative Michael Zalewski, the Village, and the Park District of La Grange will host a recycling and shredding event on Saturday, September 26 from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event will be held at the Sedgwick Park parking lot on 47th Street near East Avenue.
Residents are encouraged to bring old and unnecessary paperwork and documents that contain personal identifiable information to be safely and securely destroyed. There is a two box limit.
Habitat for Humanity will also collect small building supplies for reuse and resale. Acceptable items for collection include light fixtures, lamps, power and manual tools, hardware including plumbing, electrical, nuts and bolts (cannot be rusted) and tile.
SCARCE (School and Community Assistance for Recycling and Composting Education) will collect school supplies (folders, notebooks, papers, crayons), musical instruments and eyeglasses for reuse.
