[ARCHIVED] Crime Prevention Advisory - Armed Robbery in La Grange Park

The La Grange Police Department would like to inform residents that an armed robbery occurred in La Grange Park on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at approximately 8:30 pm, at the northeast corner of Brewster Ave. and Kensington Ave. This crime is very similar to the one that occurred the night before in La Grange at the corner of Cossitt Ave. and Spring Ave.

In the La Grange Park armed robbery, three M/B offenders approached four juvenile victims on foot, brandished firearms, and demanded the victim’s money and cell phones. The victims handed over their property and no one was injured. All three offenders fled on foot from the scene of the crime. The victims ran two blocks northeast to the La Grange Park Police Department to report the incident.

The La Grange Police Department is asking residents to be vigilant when walking around less populated areas of town. Cross the street if a group of unfamiliar people are approaching and never hesitate to dial 9-1-1 if you feel unsafe, police expect to be called under such circumstances.

La Grange Police Officers will continue with increased patrol on residential streets. The Investigations Division is working in collaboration with La Grange Park to solve these armed robberies. Anyone with information is asked to notify the La Grange Police Department at (708) 579-2333.
