ComEd has announced additional reliability improvement projects within the Village of La Grange. This work has been coordinated between the Village and ComEd as a direct result of citizen concerns communicated to the Village and upon a review by ComEd of its system performance records.
The majority of the work is occurring within the Village's right-of-way along Cossitt Avenue. We expect there to be minimal excavation within the roadway as the majority of the work is occurring within existing underground ComEd conduits. There is also some work occurring on private property. The Village notified ComEd to coordinate work on private property individually with owners impacted by the work in order to answer any questions, discuss potential tree trimming work, coordinate access, discuss landscaping and driveway restoration, and provide contact information for residents . You should also be receiving a letter from ComEd in the near future explaining the work and providing contact information for the project.
The contractor for the project is Meade Electric. ComEd has indicated that the work is scheduled to begin the week of July 5, 2016 and continue through the end of August 26th, 2016. ComEd has indicated that residents may experience a few disruptions with their electrical service while this work is being performed. ComEd will try to minimize these outages and will provide additional notices to residents prior to any anticipated outages. Please note access to all roadways will remain open during construction.
The Village will continue to work closely with ComEd to help facilitate ongoing equipment upgrades and other targeted improvements throughout La Grange to address areas with outage related concerns.
