On Thursday August 11, the Village and neighboring communities experienced a major power outage originating at the Mc Cook station and reportedly impacting 10,000 ComEd customers.
Since that time, ComEd has developed and implemented an action plan for system reliability repairs and improvements, which includes the Mc Cook station.
ComEd plans to perform repairs to the Mc Cook station beginning at 10 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2016 and ending at 6 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016. While the work is anticipated to be successfully completed without an outage occurring, precautions are being taken by ComEd in the form of added system redundancies and stand-by crews.
