Earlier today, a fault occurred in the ComEd electrical system originating at the Tilden substation. While La Grange customers were not impacted, the fault did result in outages for a neighboring community. As a result, ComEd plans to make necessary repairs to the system beginning early tomorrow morning.
While the work is anticipated to be successfully completed without an outage occurring, precautions are being taken in the form of stand by crews and the staging of generators in generally the same areas as they were during the August outages. The generators will only be activated if necessary.
ComEd has also established an Incident Command Center to monitor the situation.
