Posted on: July 14, 2017[ARCHIVED] Fire Departments Receive Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant
The La Grange Fire Department, along with our regional public safety partners La Grange Park and Western Springs, have been awarded a grant from the Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant, in the amount of $339,000.
The grant award is for the purchase of portable radios to replace existing older radios currently in service within the three communities. The radios have upgraded technology to give the Fire Departments more flexibility in the event of an emergency.
On July 10, 2017, Congressman Dan Lipinski presented the three Villages with a check in the amount of $309,000, which represents 90% of the project cost.
