[ARCHIVED] Tree Inventory Data Collection Starting on January 3rd

Beginning January 3, 2018, the Village will complete an inventory of all trees within the Village right-of-way.  In cooperation with the Morton Arboretum and the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service, the Village received a grant to assist with these data collection initiatives.  The tree data obtained from this inventory will be integrated into the Village’s Geographic Information System to be used by staff for tree maintenance activities.  Also, once completed the tree information will be available in an interactive map on the Village’s website where residents will be able to find out more information about the trees adjacent to their property.

The contractor for the project, Graf Tree Care, is expected to complete the work in the spring.  The personnel collecting the data will be wearing high visibility vests that identify them as Graf employees.  The tree inventory is only for Village trees, so employees should not need access to private property.  If there are any questions about the tree inventory, please contact Hanna Evans, Village Forester, at (708) 579-2326 x2427 or hevans@villageoflagrange.com
