In honor of Arbor Day, residents now have the ability to access information on parkway trees adjacent to their property or around their neighborhood through an interactive map on the Village's website.
The Village of La Grange is pleased to announce the completion of an inventory of all trees within Village right-of-way’s. The tree inventory was made possible through a grant from the Morton Arboretum and the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service. A total of 9,291 parkway trees were identified, assessed and mapped.
Tree data obtained from this inventory has been integrated into the Village’s Geographic Information System and is now available in an interactive map on the Village’s website. By using this new tool residents can find out the tree species common and Latin name, trunk diameter, tree height and spread on any parkway tree located within the Village.
The map, along with other information for a specific property such as tax information, refuse collection, legislative districts and school districts is available through the Community Portal located in the lower left hand corner of the front page of the Village website or via this link: https://apps.gisconsortium.org/CommunityPortal/Default.aspx?PL=VLG
