Starting Monday, October 4, the east side of the Brainard Avenue railroad crossing is anticipated to be under construction on both sides of the tracks for approximately one week.
The platforms and sidewalk returns on the north and south side of the tracks on the east side of Brainard Avenue will be constructed and the sidewalk will be widened on the south side of the tracks.
To safely cross the railroad tracks at Brainard Avenue, pedestrians are urged to obey posted signage and use the sidewalks located on the west side of Brainard Avenue.
Please do not walk in the street at any time unless crossing at a designated and marked pedestrian crossing area.
For your safety, do not enter the construction zone and be aware of construction workers and equipment in the area.
Based on the current progress of the project and remaining work, Metra has indicated that the Stone Avenue Train Station Platform Reconstruction Project will be complete by the end of October.
