EAST AVENUE RESURFACING – COOK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND HIGHWAYS – STARTS WEEK OF JUNE 4, 2018
The Village would like to advise residents that the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways (CCDOTH) plans to resurface East Avenue through La Grange and Brookfield, from 47th Street to Ogden Avenue. The scope of work includes milling and resurfacing the existing pavement, sidewalk removal and ADA compliant ramp construction, curb and gutter replacement, and drainage structure adjustments as required. This work will be performed by D-Construction.
The CCDOTH has indicated that work is expected to start the week of June 4, 2018 and be completed in July, 2018.
Localized lane closures will be required to accommodate the work. At least one lane of traffic in both the northbound and southbound directions will remain open at all times. Additionally, street parking on East Avenue will be restricted. Traffic delays are expected and motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid the work zone. We ask that motorists plan accordingly and exercise care when driving through the construction zone. Signs and message boards will be posted alerting motorists of the resurfacing work and parking restrictions. Please note that all schedules and work progress are weather dependent.
Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation. We will work with the CCDOTH to minimize the inconveniences associated with this project. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Cook County Department of Transportation Resident Engineer, John Sek at (312) 465-0392 or the Department of Public Works at (708) 579-2328.
