As previously reported, IDOT will be starting the La Grange Road Resurfacing project on Monday, April 8. The project scope will consist of milling and resurfacing the existing pavement, intermittent sidewalk, curb and gutter replacement, and drainage structure repairs as required. The contractor for the work is K-5 Contractors of Westmont, Illinois.
The first phase of the project that will start on Monday will include the removal and replacement of sidewalks and curbs at street intersections to make them compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The contractor is planning to start at the intersection of Goodman and La Grange Road, and will be working north to Burlington Avenue as part of the first phase of the project. Each corner is anticipated to be under construction for approximately 2 to 3 weeks while the existing concrete is removed and new sidewalks are poured. To minimize disruption, the contractor will be working one side of the roadway at a time.
Pedestrians are reminded to be careful when walking around the work zones and when crossing roadways.
For this component of the work the contractor is planning to work from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
