The purpose of this notice is to provide an update on the La Grange Road Resurfacing Project.
The contractor has divided milling and resurfacing work into two phases. The first phase of the work from Joliet Road to just north of 47th Street is nearing completion. Over the next several weeks the contractor will be placing the final layer of asphalt in this section of roadway. Starting the week of July 15th, the second phase of the resurfacing work will begin from just north of 47th Street to 31st Street. The process for grinding the existing asphalt, patching, adjustment of structures, and asphalt placement will be the same as the first phase. The contractor anticipates to be completed with the second phase of the work near the end of August. Additionally, sidewalk replacement work at the intersection of Burlington Avenue and La Grange Road will begin this week.
Please note on-street parking will be limited when the grinding and paving operations are occurring adjacent to existing on-street parking areas. In order to accommodate this work, on-street parking will be restricted from 2:00 am to 5:00 pm when work is occurring in that area. On-street parking will be allowed during the evening. Signs will be posted in the area notifying motorists of parking restrictions.
Off street parking is available throughout the La Grange Central Business District during construction. Also, free valet station are being provide on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5 pm to 10 pm at Harris and Madison Avenues; 11 S. La Grange Road; and Calendar and Burlington Avenues. For more information on parking, please visit the Village’s website. Pedestrians are reminded to be careful when walking around the work zones and when crossing roadways. Finally, please be aware of traffic and work that is occurring near the BNSF railroad crossing, and do not stop on the tracks.
