The Village of La Grange, along with local, state and federal health partners, are closely monitoring the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). As this situation evolves, the Village will continue to provide essential public services, such as police, fire and public works.
To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents and employees, and as a result of guidance from state and federal agencies, beginning Tuesday, March 17, Village Hall offices will be open, but will have limited access for business. Residents are urged to please use the online resources available on the Village website or after-hours drop-box to transact Village business. Services available on-line include water bill payments, vehicle sticker renewals, invoice payments and commuter parking. Residents that are unable to pay their water bills on line, will not assess late fees if paid by April 15, 2020. Building permit services will still be provided, however, inspection services will be limited. If you need assistance with processing a payment online, please contact us at (708) 579-2301 with any inquiries.
Residents are asked to contact the Police Department at (708) 352-2131 for routine or non-emergency matters. In some cases, information or reports may be taken over the phone instead of in-person. For all emergencies, please continue to dial 9-1-1.
The Public Works Building will be closed to the public although essential services will continue as normal. Please contact Public Works at (708) 579-2328 for any questions.
All Village Board and board and commission meetings are cancelled through the end of March. The Village will communicate details regarding the status of meetings in April when more information becomes available.
The Illinois Department of Public Health recommends social distancing as an effective means of reducing the spread of illnesses like COVID-19 – but social distancing can make accessing necessities a challenge. Although restaurants are not open for dining-in until the end of March as determined by Governor Pritzker, our restaurants are open for delivery, carryout, and curb-side pick-up. Several of our retailers also have on-line shopping websites with delivery and curbside pick-up options. Please consider supporting our local businesses via these options whenever possible.
The Village will continue to reassess conditions and provide updates to the community as more information becomes available. Please continue to check the Village’s website, and sign up for E-News for future updates. Please check the websites of other governmental entities such as the school districts, library, and park district for specific information regarding their operations.
