[ARCHIVED] Severe Weather Update

La Grange

As a result of the severe weather earlier this evening, crews are working to address a number of power outages and downed tree limbs throughout the Village.

Public Works crews have been deployed to remove limbs from the streets and sidewalks. In order to give residents time to collect any limbs on their property, a special brush pick up will be held starting Monday, August 17.  For more information regarding brush pickup guidelines, please visit the Village website.

Power outages are continuing to impact a number of areas in La Grange and we have been in contact with Com Ed accordingly. Com Ed reports that more than 600,000 customers across their service territory were out of power and as of 10 p.m. this evening, 260,000 customers have been restored.  Com Ed reports that they are working to restore service as soon as possible and have more than 800 employees working around the clock.  Additionally, more than 1,000 mutual assistance workers from other states will be assisting in restoration efforts.  Do not approach downed power lines.  Com Ed customers can text "OUT" to 26633 (COMED) to report an outage and receive restoration information. Customers can also call 1-800 EDISON1 (1-800-334-7661), or report outages via their website at ComEd.com/Report
