The Village would like to advise residents that the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad plans to trim and remove trees that are within 20’ of the nearest track. This work will have a significant impact on trees along Hillgrove and Burlington Avenues. The BNSF indicates that this work is necessary to meet their standards for clear sight lines along the railroad.
The work is planned to start this week and will continue until the end of January. Where possible, the Village plans to plant additional trees and landscaping to mitigate the impacts from the loss of these trees.
Residents may also experience a temporary increase in noise levels associated with railroad equipment performing the work. If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at (708) 579-2328.
