October is Fire Prevention Month. Fire Prevention Week was October 3-9, and the Fire Department reminds residents that October is the time to make sure your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms are working properly.
The 2021 Fire Prevention Week theme, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety”, also reminds us it is important to learn the different sounds of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. It is also important that those devices meet the needs of all family members, including those with sensory or physical disabilities.
The Fire Department has several helpful articles and activities, to help remind residents of the importance of knowing the “Sounds of Fire Safety”, including an interactive "Jeopardy Game". For further information regarding Fire Safety and Prevention, please click here.
