Update - June 3, 2022 at 11:55 a.m.

The previously reported gas leak in the alley near 512 Burlington Avenue has been controlled by Nicor. The smell of natural gas may linger in the air for a short period of time and then dissipate. Any residents or businesses in the area that are experiencing any issues, should contact Nicor directly for assistance at 1-888-642-6748.

The Village has experienced a 2 inch broken gas line in the alley near 512 Burlington Avenue.  The gas line was hit during the repair of a sewer manhole in the area.  Reports of natural gas smell are being reported in the vicinity and to the east of this location.  Nicor is on the scene and working to shut down and repair the line.
