[ARCHIVED] Water Conservation Regulations

During the spring and summer months, high temperatures and dry conditions can contribute to challenges in maintaining proper water levels in the Village’s water system. To maintain these levels, regulations regarding watering lawns and gardens are in effect.

Watering regulations, according to Village Ordinance § 52.41, are as follows:

  • Even Numbered Addresses may water on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
  • Odd Numbered Addresses may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
  • Watering on Monday is prohibited

Following these regulations is vital in ensuring that adequate water levels are maintained for the Village’s drinking water supply, fire protection, and resiliency against prolonged drought conditions.

Watering before 10:00 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m., which are times outside of the hottest hours of the day, minimizes evaporation and makes the most efficient use of water. Additional water conservation measures can be found here.

Water customers are asked to follow these regulations and undertake water conservation measures to ensure that adequate water levels can be maintained.

Additional restrictions may be imposed should drought conditions increase, water system or emergency circumstances occur.
