General Utility Worker
The General Utility Worker position performs a variety of semi-skilled to skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair and construction of streets, water and sewer systems and related Public Works and utility facilities and urban forest.
The position requires general construction knowledge and the ability to operate a variety of heavy trucks and equipment for the repair, maintenance and construction of the Village’s infrastructure. Desired skills for the position includes general knowledge of water, sewer and street reconstruction, concrete forming and finishing, and tree trimming and maintenance. Snow plowing experience is a plus. Must have an excellent work record and be able to work overtime and be accessible during off work hours for emergencies.
Part-Time Fire Inspector
The part-time Fire Inspector plays a critical role in advancing the fire prevention objectives of the Department, working closely with the Fire Chief and Fire Prevention Bureau Captain to develop and implement a comprehensive inspection program and support fire prevention outreach and education.
Working together with sworn personnel, the Fire Inspector will preserve and improve fire safety at the Village’s vibrant community consisting of a bustling downtown, beautiful residential neighborhoods, diverse restaurants, numerous independent shops, and national retail tenants. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in fire prevention codes, laws, and practices and skilled in customer service and project management.
